Instructions for Online Lessons Software

Our educators will use SKYPE to teach Online lessons. Some of the main features we use are video chat, screen share, and sending messages. Please follow the instructions below to set up for online lessons before your first lesson.

Step1: Download 

Download Skype on the device you will be used for taking our online lessons.

Step 2: Signup

Sign up with Skype using your email address or phone number.

Step 3: Add your educator 

Send your educator a friend request(please make sure to indicate your name). Your educator's ID is included in the email that leads you to this page.

Step 4: Run a Test

Before your first lesson, you can try video chat and screen sharing features with your friends or family to test out if Skype functions well on your device. You will need to give the microphone, camera, and screen sharing access to Skype on your device.

*We will use Zoom as back-up whenever Skype does not function. Your educator’s Zoom Meeting ID is included in the email that leads you to this page.

Instructions for Online Learning Platform 

Our educators will use SEESAW to post students learning progress and communicate with students and parents on the platform.

Step1(optional): Download Seesaw App on your mobile devices

Please follow the website’s directions to download the Seesaw Parent and Family app on the device you wish to use the platform.

Step 2: Join the Platform as a Student

During your first lesson, your educator will add student(s) to Seesaw.

Step 3: Join the Platform as a Parent

After adding students to Seesaw, parents will receive an email invitation to sign up for Seesaw as a parent.

Instructions for Language Practice Software 

Our educators and students will use Quizlet to practice vocabulary, phrases, and sentences. Please follow the instructions below to set up for online lessons before your first lesson.

Step1(optional): Download Quizlet App on your mobile devices

Download Quizlet on the device you will use for taking our online lessons.

Step 2: Signup

Create a Quizlet account using your email address. During your first lesson, your educator will ask you for your Quizlet ID to share flashcards sets with you in the future.
